Saturday morning the sun was out early and so were our campers, lined up for another round of the Morning Show broadcast outside on the patio. After a fortifying meal, we headed into the tent to take part in a great worship time and to listen to Kurt preach on Reconciliation. The message revealed how God sent His Son as a propitiation for our sins, and through Christ we are reconciled to God. His illustrations have been so memorable, I am sure you will be hearing about some of them and the Bible truths shared when your kids return home.
Lunch was followed by various excursions through the afternoon, in keeping with our Cruise Ship theme. Our campers could do paintball and other land activities while each D-group had the chance to hit the lake for the first time today. Lots of tubing on all of the boats today! The kids thoroughly enjoyed their time with their leaders and friends with all returning safely to camp with minimal sunburn!
Our evening message was moved up a couple of hours today to allow for our special event – Formal Night. Many of the campers donned formal wear to join the others for a wonderful dinner of teriyaki chicken, rice and salad. The dinner included a night of dinner theater under the stars, as the students staged our Annual Talent Show. The talent pool was somewhat shallow this year but the evening was entertaining nonetheless with some unforgettable performances…and some very forgettable.
The campers hit the sleeping bags early tonight in order to be ready for a full day on the lake tomorrow. After breakfast, they will be transported to our own custom-prepared beach, featuring the infamous Blob and this year’s latest hit , the 90 foot mega-slide!
