As you read your New Testament, there are times when God says something about women that cause all of us to pause and to wonder… ‘What exactly does He mean by that?’ Or ‘How am I supposed to apply that today?’
What do I mean?
In 1 Corinthians 11, Paul talks about WEARING HEAD COVERINGS and hair length. In 1 Timothy 2, he talks about women shall be PRESEVED or SAVED IN CHILD BIRTH and that women should not EXERCISE AUTHORITY over men. In I Corinthians 14, Paul tells the women to KEEP SILENT and in 1 Timothy 5 Paul says certain particular widows are to be PUT ON A LIST.
In many churches today, these statements from God’s Word are almost an embarrassment – but they should not be. As we continue to study Ephesians 5:22-24 and the role of women, we need to make sure we don’t skip over these passages that shed light on God’s heart toward His children. So this Sunday, we will look at almost all the rest of the New Testament on the role of women in order to understand WHAT GOD THINKS OF WOMEN.
Be on time this week as the sermon starts early in the service and be praying that our God again would make us all more like His Son for His Glory.
